Our story is one of commitment, care, and resilience, fueled by the simple belief that everyone deserves access to opportunities that enrich their lives. As we continue to grow and adapt, we remain devoted to creating inclusive spaces where every member of our community feels valued and empowered.

Our Story
Testlands was founded in 2010 by three friends – Luke Newman, Joe Crook, and Dan Annetts – who shared a passion for sport, physical education, and helping others.
What began with local coaching sessions and community fundraising challenges, like Southampton to Paris and the 102-hour football game, soon grew into a city-wide mission: to create more opportunities for children, young people, and families across Southampton to thrive.
Over time, Dan moved on to new adventures, while Luke and Joe continued the journey, building Testlands into a movement focused on whole-person and whole-community wellbeing. We learned that true change goes beyond sport — it’s about people, places, and purpose. That’s why our work now centres on five pillars of wellbeing: Physical, Mental, Cultural, Financial, and Environmental.
From Testlands Wellbeing Hub, Green Lane and Coxford Wellbeing Hub, to our upcoming St Mary’s Community & Leisure Centre opening in 2026, we’re creating spaces where connection, care, and opportunity can grow side by side. Because at Testlands, we believe lasting change starts when people care about themselves, their community, and their future.
